Learn to take pictures for eBay:
Saturday Jan 29 or Mar 12 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon
Increase not only the items you sell on eBay, but your profits as well! A good picture can sell just about anything, and when it comes to eBay, a good picture can separate you from the competition. Millions of people sell items on eBay every day, many of which are duplicate items: you're not the only one trying to get rid of that vintage velvet Elvis painting! Make your "for sale" items stand out by learning how to take professional-quality photographs of your auctionable treasures. In this three-hour course, you'll learn all the necessary do's and don'ts of photographing items for eBay: lighting, cropping, scale, optimization and more! Bring your notebook and be prepared for handouts. This is a hands-on class, so you are encouraged to bring your camera if you have one. A camera is not required, but would make the class more beneficial to you. No previous experience in photography or Internet sales is required, but this course will provide added insight for those who do have some experience. As always, please bring your creativity and plenty of questions to class!
Portfolio and Presentation. Preparing for whats next:
Saturday Mar 26 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon
The goal of this class is to teach you how to assemble a well-defined and cohesive collection of personal work; this collection will allow you to better organize your vision, as well as to structure your images for professional presentations. Preparing a portfolio is a crucial part of any individual's ability to explain and sell their work. Whether you plan on starting a career in photography, or a family tradition of scrapbooking, learning how to take better pictures is only half the battle. The ability to present your images in a descriptive way is how you will make sure that others see your work in the way that you intend for them to see it. This single-session, three-hour class will be conducted in a roundtable type setting, and will encourage group discussion of fellow class members' work. All individuals enrolled in this class should prepare either a body of work concentrated in digital photography, and/or works created in Adobe Photoshop. All students enrolled in the Digital Photography Certificate Program or the Adobe Photoshop Certificate Program are required to take this course. However, you need not be enrolled in either certificate program to participate in this class. Students simply wanting to learn how to create a portfolio are welcome! No "store-bought" portfolio is required, but please do bring a pencil and notebook, as well as your creativity and questions! (Completion of this course is required for the Digital Photography Certificate and for the Adobe Photoshop Certificate)
